Splendor of the Fall Uncorked Domestic Harmony

Events are gathering places for people and fodder for photographers.  I began this body-of-work in the fall of 2003 as a way to emulate the great street photographers like Garry Winogrand.  I needed crowds of people  and high school football games occur on a regular basis from August until October.  Early on, it was clear in my mind that the action shots were for newspaper photographers and the stands and sidelines belonged to me.  These photos for me are of youth and expectation.

Uncorked is my response to le champagne.  I began making these images in 2008 just to have something to put on my walls near my cellar.  I have a profound love for le champagne, it is a hobby for me and my wife to enjoy tasting and finding.  Living here in Tennessee, there is very little selection to choose from, so on any out-of-state trips we always find wine stores to bring the bottles home.  The images in this collection are in no particular order, they are the images I like best after making over 100 of them.

Domestic Harmony was by final BFA exhibit at ETSU in 2006.
